AWEF is an advocate for change, hence the organisation’s work is centred at the forefront championing, supporting and taking lead in promoting changes through a wide range of activities designed to strengthen the African women in society, whether it might be through contributing to their educational, social or economic needs. We help women to build on their concepts, leading to their self-development, providing for them a platform that they can grow economically, educationally and socially from concept through to full development.

Our organisation supports African women to integrate in the society in which they live in meaningful ways.

Enabling African women to participate freely without prejudices, and to:

  • develop socially through community participation
  • economically through enterprise development support
  • educationally through learning and development activities

Our organisation offers advice and sign posting primarily for women and young mothers to the relevant organisations. Our organisation seeks at all time to build and work with lead organisations such as local authorities, NHS, Police, Employment services and other bodies to enhance opportunities for our core clients

We design and execute world-class conferences and workshops that focuses on equipping African women with world-class leadership skills and essential qualities to do effective business and be in leading roles with society as a whole. We help to provide meaningful business solutions and resources for women, whether in the third sector or in private business sector.

Our organisation through our AWEF Hub provides core support for our core clientele who seek to develop and run enterprises. We help them to with their plans and access to meaningful resources.

Aims and Objectives

The organisation was established for the empowerment of women of African origin, in particular:

  • To stir them to speak out and challenge inequalities in society.
  • To advocate for women on gender issues, equality of access and non-discrimination, based on race, gender, age or immigration status.
  • To have an input on policies that impact on us locally and nationally.
